Top 10 Hindi Bestseller Novels 2017

On Day 1 of the ZEE JLF, the list was released that featured ten hindi bestseller novels, ten adult non-fiction books in hindi, and ten books that were translated to hindi and sold like hot cakes. The list was presented by Dainik Jagran and it’s the first time ever that they introduced such a list. Isn’t that awesome? You can, now, know about all the hindi bestseller novels!

How is this list created?

A lot of people have questions about how the list was formulated. Well, The Nielsen Bookscan made it possible to scan the sales numbers and come up with this list. Dainik Jagran plans to release such a list every quarter as part of their campaign ‘Hindi Hai Hum’.

Top 10 Hindi Bestseller Novels

  1. Banaras Talkies by Satya Vyas

Satya Vyas, a very popular new hindi writer, has penned this book that puts forward the life at Benaras Hindu University (BHU) in a very nice manner that’s close to reality. It truly depicts the vibe of the famous city – Banaras.

2. Zindagi 50-50 by Bhagwant Anmol

It’s a story about how a father decides to give a complete life to his son who happens to be an eunuch despite all the challenges posed by the current Indian society.

3. Masala Chai by Divya Prakash Dubey

It’s a collection of short stories written in a very easy and day-to-day language. The stories are written for youngsters who want to revisit their college life through books. It’s claimed to be a very good book for beginners who want to start reading hindi bestseller novels.

4. Chablia Rangbaaz Ka Shahar by Pravin Kumar

It’s a collection of four stories which depict the life in big and small Indian cities with great detail about the culture, the language and the dressing style in a very entertaining and gripping manner.

5. Do Log by Gulzar

A novel about partition, it details the life of two people beginning from 1946 to the Kargil war.

6. Neelesh Mishra Ka Yaad Sheher Vol 1 by Neelesh Mishra

It’s a collection of short stories picked from the radio show called Yaadon Ka Idiot box which was a radio show where the author narrated short stories. He attempts to compile all those stories set in the fictional city called Yaad Sheher.

7. Ishqiyapa by Pankab Dubey

It’s a romantic comedy set in Patna and Bombay. The girl is the daughter of an MLA and wants to be a pop diva like Britney Spears. The boy wants to start a ‘kidnapping insurance’ business. They meet and then, begins their love story full with errors and comedy.

8. Neela Scarf by Anu Singh Choudhary

It’s again a short story collection that depicts life in different social classes in the country.

9. Sirri by Abir Anand

It’s a gripping tale about the repercussions of the electronic age.

10. Goa Golata by Surendra Mohan Pathak

A guy kills his cook. Another guy, our protagonist/antagonist kills this killer and runs off to Goa to meet a don and gets another contract. Who is he going to kill next?
