Just when the Indian audience is excited about global online streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime taking an interest in Indian entertainment market and coming up with India-based originals, our very own ZEE has launched its own online streaming service known as ZEE5 and has already made a mark on the online streaming platform.
From decades ZEE has been catering to Indian audience, mostly women, with family based dramas.
Honestly, it didn’t have appropriate content to attract young adults or generally people who don’t just want to watch same old daily soaps which have been running since years. Back then.
But, ZEE has definitely over-hauled its whole outlook towards entertainment and with the launch of ZEE5 it has proved that it is still in the game.
The online streaming service has already rolled out many ZEE5 Originals in two months of its release, and the best part is that the Original content is offered in six languages including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
I must say, the brand completely lives upto its moto of “Apni bhasha mein feel hai!”
ZEE5 has planned to host around 90-plus Original shows by the end of march 2019. This holistic mix of short-films and web-series in a spectrum of different genres will establish ZEE5’s supremacy in Indian online streaming market.
Moreover, as compared to other popular online streaming services, ZEE5’s special focus to cater Indian tastes and preferences will ensure customers the best quality content across genres and languages.
Currently Streaming: Life Sahi Hai 2
Talking about Originals, ZEE5 recently launched its latest Hindi Original ‘Life Sahi Hai 2’.
It’s a kind of second season to ‘Life Sahi Hai’, which was released in 2016 on Youtube. The show is produced by The Lazy Studio, which is a subsidiary of Luv Films of Luv Ranjan, yes, the “Pyaar Ka Punchnama” fame director.
By the way, the creator of the series is Tarun Jain, who has acted in the series as well, and who also happens to be the writer of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnana 2’.
So by now, you should be satisfied that this show is not going to disappoint you, even a bit.
About Life Sahi Hai 2
So, in this season, Amit and Jasjit are joined by their new roommate – Vaibhav, who’s a single, sober and sophisticated guy among the lot. Initially, he’s chosen as their roommate to keep them out of trouble with their neighbors and society members, but as soon he joins them, he’s the one creating more trouble than them.
The boys find themselves in uncomfortable and unintentionally comic situations with their girlfriends, parents, bosses, neighbors, and even police.
But shameless as ever, how they laugh their way out of every problem with their “Life Sahi Hai!” moto – is just exhilarating to watch.
There are 5 episodes of around 20 mins each in this season, and you won’t find a single dull moment during your binge-watch of the show.
Like last season, Suhail Nayyar and Tarun Jain have nailed their performances as Jasjit and Amit, respectively. But the real surprise is their new roomie Vaibhav, played by Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who brings a new and innocent energy to the show.
Namya Saxena also delivers excellence in the role of Priya, Amit’s girlfriend.
The plot-line is simple, but the situational comedy, dialogues and acting just uplifts the whole series and takes it to a new level.
I’d say that with importance being given to the sitcoms in web-series and short-films, India can soon have its very own globally famous sitcoms, and won’t feel the need to drift to western sitcoms like Friends, Two And A Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, etc.

They know that they’re in the big league now with global giants, who have already established themselves in India, so they would have to really competitive and evolving if they are aiming to rule online streaming section in India.
