Pick A Language You’re Comfortable In
Contrary to the popular belief, there’s a world beyond English books. Regional literature is much more intense, deep and entertaining. Whatever you’re looking for, you can find a book about it, a well-written book in fact, in your regional language.
Why regional language? Because you’ll be more comfortable reading books in that language. You will fly through the books and just develop habit of reading books.
2. Pick A Genre You Like
Think of the stories you like. Do you like romance? Horror? Thriller? Non-fiction?
Why do you need to do that? Because, if you’re reading something you like, you have a higher chances of continuing it.
3. Read 10 Pages At A Time
Why this number? Honestly, it’s a random number. Minimum amount of pages you need to read. Why not more?
Here’s the thing – when you are working on developing the habit of reading books, you want to go easy. Don’t strain yourself. Don’t try to read too much. One step at a time.

4. Read For 30 Days Every Day
Take up a 30-day challenge. Try to read every day, ten pages a day. Do that for 30 days and it will be your habit.
It’s a principle of habit formation – you need to do a thing every day for at least 30 days to make it a habit. So, if you want to develop habit of reading books, read books for 30 days.
5. Connect With people Who Share Your Love For Reading Books
Don’t make it a solitary practice. Go to YouTube and search for ‘top booktubers’ or ‘top indian booktubers’ and follow these people who talk about books on youtube.
Follow some book blogs. Start following people on Instagram and Twitter, who talk about books.
Doing so would work wonders for you. It will put you in the mood for reading. Try it!
