Valentine’s Day is on the cards and I’m sure many of you would be doing the same – “Baby, what do you want me to gift you for the Valentine’s” trick to get some gift ideas. Even when you have known the person for years, you just find yourself clueless when it comes to gifting on an occasion like Valentine’s Day. Don’t you?
And this confusion and nervousness hits us hard when we end up choosing a gift which isn’t received well by the love of our life/the person whom we’re dating/ our valentine. Well, I have been through this and having done all the blunders already, I now know what works well.
So, here is some advice for you to choose the right gift for your Valentine.
- Personalize the gift: No matter what you are going to buy, make sure you add your personal touch in that in some way. If it is a card, pour out what’s in your heart on it. Write a love letter and hide it in the layers of the dress you’re going to buy for your girl. Girls, your boyfriend would love it if his new wallet would have a cute picture of both of you in it. It feels horrible when your Valentine gets you stuff directly from the shop without bothering to write even ‘I love you’ on it somewhere. Make sure you don’t do that.
- Inquire about the return policy: This is a serious advice for people who have been in a serious relationship for a few years. When you’re comfortable with each other, “I don’t want this gift” comes out really easily. Be prepared for it. Of course, the love gurus would curse me over giving this advice for they think you never turn down a gift on Valentine’s Day but still, keep this in mind.
- Keep it a surprise: Women love surprises. A surprise gift would be hundred times better than a gift she already knows about. And I believe it goes the same for guys. Isn’t it awesome to keep him/her guessing till the end?
- Keep in mind his/her choice: One of the most important things you need to keep in mind is the ‘choice’. His/her choice, not yours. We often tend to go and buy gifts according to our own likes. But this time, think about your love. What does he/she like? What does he/she want to buy? That would be a right gift for your Valentine.
So, this is it. The four things you must keep in your mind while buying the gift for your Valentine. Go on! Don’t be lazy. And I would love it if you share what you’re going to buy for your valentine with me.
Happy Valentine’s Day. 🙂
