My Review Of Unlawful Justice by Vish Dhamija
There are some books that you realise would be really good – right from page one. Unlawful justice is one such book. It begins in such a beautifully expressed manner.
I mean there are various ways to write the same thing and a good writer just knows how to string those words to create art. Vish Dhamija certainly knows how to express and how to ignite the interest of the reader while fetching subconsciously made complements by the reader all throughout the book.
It has such a nice grip on the facts – the Indian law, the real state of justice system in the country and the power of science.
It also has characters that deserve your attention. There are the Diwans and there’s Akash. Then there are the bad people. Even the seemingly small characters have so much of definition in them that you just cannot stop acknowledging that. You love reading about every single character – from the small auto rickshaw driver who plays a part in the investigation to the almost mute puppet lawyer, it manages to impress you to the core.
I believe, when you’re reading a thriller novel, you really need the thrill portion to be on point and Unlawful Justice by Vish Dhamija definitely has that. Your heart races with your reading speed and your eyes strain for you’re trying to take in more than you can. You just want to keep reading, flip the pages and enjoy until you reach the satisfactory end – which immediately makes you hungry for more books by the author. You also like the detail throw into the book and if you ever missed a good legal thriller from India, here it arrives – the Unlawful Justice by Vish Dhamija. Go and read it. It’s worth it!
My ratings 4.5/5
Read this book Manpreet. The book opens well and moves through predictable sub-plots. However for me, the thrill element did slacken, and suspense fell flat. Nevertheless, I must give it to Vish Dhamija, for the factual research on the working of the judicial system. I found the story, its construction and the characters to be fine and realistic in nature.
